All participants need to have done a multi pitch ice climbing course (level 2), to join the level 3-4 trip.

Oppdal offers some great ice climbing options both single pitches and a lot of multi pitch. We will play around with mix and dry tool climbing. Also since we start to go more into the backcountry there will also be some avalanche lessons and drills. If weather allows we will try the magic Kongsvollfossen WI3-4 – 150m.

We will refresh all the skills from previously, but add new lays. The focus will be multi pitch climbing and getting more to the backcountry.

Our AirBnB are located next to a lighted ski track so there is option to ski on rest days or in the afternoon.

DAY FOR DAY 

Day 0 – 29 dec: afternoon: Travel to Oppdal, Norway

Day 1 – 30 dec: Some top rope to get back into ice climbing

Day 2 – 31 dec: Top rope, lead practice, rope practise. New Year celebration

Day 3 – 1 jan: Late start. Multi pitch

Day 4 – 2 jan: Alpine ridgeline climb on running belay

Day 5 – 3 jan: Multi pitch

Day 6 – 4 jan: Dry tool & mix climbing

Day 7 – 5 jan: Last energy out on some top rope around 14:00
