Level 2-3 Fjellski Expedition: 7 days – Finnmarksvidda, Norway
15-21 April 2024
Instructors: Lars Bukkehave & Maria Winther
Language: Danish, norwegian and english
Arrival 15 April
All participants need to be familiar with fjellski both up and downhill.
If you dream to make a ski expedition in the winter wonderworld this is the course for you. We will teach all skills you need to be self-sufficient and what kind of gear you need and how to use it. During the course we will each day
build a good winter tent camp with a windbreak. We will among other things also teach how to use a multi-fuel stove properly in the cold. During the week we will improve our tent routines and teach all tips and tricks that are useful.
The course is planned as a ski expedition around Kirkenes north norway. So we each day ski to a new location and train navigation even if it’s whiteout. Maybe one of the days we will build a snow cave or Igloo!
Day 1: Travel to Kirkeness or Alta. Transport to mountain hut where we get first night and all gear and food ready.
Day 2: Day trip from Mountain hut
Day 3-6: Ski Expedition with tent and pulka
Day 7: Transport back to airport.
This program and location is a template and it might change according to weather and snow conditions.
This is for a group maximum of 6 people
